DESCRIPTION OF GRADUATE WORK

Proposal Development
Candidates will be introduced to the DBA research proposal development. In the 2-day facilitation session or on a one-on-one session, candidates will be guided to think critically of their own business/job and to derive researchable areas. These sessions will also be used as a platform to introduce management/business concepts and terminologies to candidates which they will need to know to organize their research and thesis writing.

Research Methodology
Candidates will be introduced to qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. They will be provided with a detailed description of each of the 5 chapters of their thesis. They will be guided to conduct a research worthy of a DBA thesis.

Candidates will be provided with on-going support to get them through Thesis Development and Thesis Completion.

DBA Professional Publication
Candidates will be required to publish their research in the form of one (1) article in a journal. These article will provide an opportunty for candicates to present their research findings to a wider audience while at the same time fullfilling the publication needs of this programme.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates wishing to pursue the Professional DBA degree must have a Master degree or its equivalent or a first degree with at least 5 years working experience or at least 10 years of work experience at the management level. All approvals are subject to the recommendation of University’s Board of Studies via an APEL application.

AREAS OF CONCENTRATION
Present doctoral studies can be pursued in a wide range of areas including: Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, Economics, Strategy, Business Law, Politics, Philosophy, Logistics, Statistics, Psychology, Auditing, Communication, Management, Education, and Sport.

LANGUAGE
It is possible to write the thesis in any language. However, all courses are provided in English.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
To graduate from the DBA programme, candidates must complete the following:

A DBA professional thesis (40,000 – 50,000 words).

DBA professional publication:
i)1 article (3,000 – 4,000 words)
